To be an Elf is to be at war. Elves are not native to the world, coming from a place more magical and wondrous. They are immortal, immune to disease and stop ageing at 25. They can be killed by violence, which is often their fate, since they are a race consumed by civil war. The Seelie and Unseelie courts, who favour the sun or moon, night or day, warmth or cold, war with each other constantly, and this battle has spilled out into other realms, including this one. Young elves are sent to the mortal world to grow in power before returning to their faerie realms, where many combatants have demi-godlike abilities. Other than preferences that seem trivial to outsiders, the Seelie and Unseelie courts appear identical in law, attitudes and philosophies.

Elves are tall, usually 6’+ in height and continue growing in height as they age, and beautiful by most human reckoning. Their skin, hair and eyes magically appear by glamour to be different to each beholder, but almost always attractive. To each other, their colours can be from almost any shade imaginable.

Elves have no soul in the mortal realms. While they can be physically healed and affected by priestly magic, they cannot be reincarnated, raised as undead or resurrected. They are immune to soul-affecting magic.
